Effective school boards must be able to establish a clear vision and direction for their district aligned with student needs and community values.

As the year winds down, now is the perfect time to sharpen your strategic planning skills while you work to refine and update your district priorities. To help you with this, CALN invites you on December 2 at noon for its second virtual Strategic Planning Workshop.

Led by Dr. Stephen Fisher, former superintendent of Cleveland County Schools for 12 years and bringing decades of education and leadership experience, this workshop will cover the fundamentals of SMART goals and help board members and superintendents align their district plans with achieving meaningful outcomes.

SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Time-Bound) are commonly used and encouraged among high-performing public and private enterprises, including school boards.
