Team CALN

Carolinas Academic Leadership Network (CALN) proudly announces the appointment of Bryce Fiedler as its first Director. Fiedler, formerly a Senior Policy Analyst with the South Carolina Policy Council, brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to educational excellence and parental empowerment.

CALN, a collaborative initiative between the John Locke Foundation (Locke) in North Carolina and the Palmetto Promise Institute (PPI) and the South Carolina Policy Council (SCPC) in South Carolina, is dedicated to enhancing the role of school board members in both states. Its mission is to empower these leaders with the necessary tools and professional development to foster student achievement and parental engagement, free from the divisive influences of contemporary politics.

“It is an honor and privilege to lead CALN at this pivotal moment in education,” said Fiedler. “The stakes for student achievement have never been higher, and I am excited to take our superior service for school board members in the Carolinas to even greater heights in this next phase.”

“We are excited to welcome Bryce Fiedler to lead CALN as we continue to support school board members in North Carolina and South Carolina,” said representatives from Locke, PPI, and SCPC. “His leadership will be instrumental in advancing our shared goals of liberty, human flourishing, and educational excellence.”

CALN’s mission is clear: to be the foremost advocate for student achievement, parental authority, and exemplary school board service throughout the Carolinas. By providing crucial resources and promoting a collaborative approach, CALN aims to elevate educational standards and promote a positive, productive environment within school districts.

Fiedler’s appointment follows another exciting announcement—CALN winning the prestigious Heritage Foundation Innovation Prize. The Innovation Prize recognizes and provides substantive financial awards to results-oriented nonprofits focused on empowering parents in education and students’ academic achievement.
